چکیده
Objective Evaluations of lifestyle modification interventions (LMIs), modeled after the DPP, have repeatedly shown a dose-response relationship between session attendance and weight loss. Despite this, not all participants “average” loss experiences. Nearly one-third LMI experienced unexpected, paradoxical outcomes (i.e., high with little loss, low clinically significant loss). Paradoxical weight-loss were characterized as based on among in group-based real-world healthcare setting. These delivered over one year to possibility attending up 25 sessions total. Methods identified 2010-2017 from electronic health records having (<75%) or (≥75%) attendance. Weight-loss defined expected (≥5%, high-attendance; <5%, low-attendance) low-attendance; high-attendance). Paradoxical-outcome-associated characteristics using logistic regression. Results Among 1,813 participants, 1,498 (82.6%) had 315 (17.4%) attendance; 555 (30.6%) outcomes, comprising 415 (74.8%) responders (≥5% weight-loss) 140 (25.2%) non-responders (<5% weight-loss). attendance, more likely be female (odds ratio [OR]: 2.76; 95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.32,5.77) type 2 diabetes (OR: 3.32; CI: 1.01,10.95). low-attendance non-Hispanic White less Black (OR:0.35; CI:0.18,0.69), Asian (OR:0.40; CI:0.22,0.73), Hispanic (OR:0.53; CI:0.35,0.80).
